Verifying
Gw2.fra started to fail to forward traffic properly and the router was reloaded immediately which limited impact to customers during the failure. Customers may have seen some packet loss or increased latency during this event.

We will continue to monitor the situation.

Scheduled
Linode Network Operations will be conducting an emergency service affecting maintenance on Gw2.fra, the maintenance is set to commence on Friday (tonight) November 4th at 12am CET (11pm UTC). Gw2.fra has hit a condition that is making the router unreachable via CLI, we are also seeing some control plane abnormalities. The vendor has advised Linode to reload the router ASAP as the condition could manifest into a more serious issue at any time. We have chosen to reload the router at a scheduled low traffic time rather than run into a service affecting issue during peak traffic hours. Frankfurt has redundant gateway routers, impact to customers should be minimal as Gw2.fra is recovering from the reload. Customers may experience some increased latency or minimal packet loss when the failover occurs.

Updates will be provided after the maintenance is complete.
