Shortly after 01:00 UTC on 1 February, 2022, Linode began investigating reports of boot failures for some customer Linodes in the Sydney data center. It was determined that a network configuration on a node for the Block Storage service prevented a small number of customers with attached Block Storage Volumes from accessing those volumes or booting the attached Linodes. After restoring connectivity, our engineers made appropriate configuration changes to prevent malfunctions of this nature in the future.
