At approximately 0528 UTC on May 30, 2024, Compute Support began receiving reports of networking issues in our Tokyo datacenter. These reports included network timeouts, packet loss, and general slowness.
By 0800 UTC, it was confirmed that a third-party provider was experiencing outages due to multiple fiber cuts in their network. To mitigate the issue, this provider was deprioritized on our network at 0900 UTC.
After the mitigations were implemented, a monitoring phase commenced at 0930 UTC. During this time, no further related reports of connectivity issues were received from either internal or external sources on our network. At 1045 UTC, the status page was updated to reflect that the issue had been resolved.
