At approximately 0528 UTC on May 30, 2024, Compute Support began receiving reports of networking issues in our Tokyo datacenter. These reports included network timeouts, packet loss, and general slowness.

By 0800 UTC, it was confirmed that a third-party provider was experiencing outages due to multiple fiber cuts in their network. To mitigate the issue, this provider was deprioritized on our network at 0900 UTC.

After the mitigations were implemented, a monitoring phase commenced at 0930 UTC. During this time, no further related reports of connectivity issues were received from either internal or external sources on our network. At 1045 UTC, the status page was updated to reflect that the issue had been resolved.

This summary provides an overview of our current understanding of the incident given the information available. Our investigation is ongoing and any information herein is subject to change.

Our team is investigating an issue affecting connectivity in our Tokyo data center During this time, users may experience intermittent connection timeouts and errors for all services deployed in this data center. We will share additional updates as we have more information.
