Starting around 05:16 UTC on November 5, 2024, Compute customers experienced difficulties accessing their Linodes hosted in the Frankfurt (FRA1) data center (DC). The existing internal alerts were promptly triggered, indicating potential network issues within this DC. Akamai’s investigation revealed that both routers in this DC had experienced a crash due to an RPD (Routing Protocol Process) error. The issue was promptly resolved when the routers automatically restarted. The resolution was achieved at 05:25 UTC on November 5, 2024.
