At ~ 13:22 UTC on Jun 23, 2025, a migration of a subset of servers between Linode core services was performed. During this migration, a process was incorrectly followed which resulted in the server set having a blank mapping table. Consequently, customers who were routed through this server set experienced resolution failures when attempting to access Linode-hosted domains. We identified this problematic server set and removed it from service at ~16:53 UTC on June 24, 2025 which restored resolution functionality. We will review our server upgrade process and identify/implement additional safeguards to prevent this issue going forward. We will also be introducing additional monitoring to detect this situation more quickly in the future.
