At approximately 04:18 UTC on November 28th, 2023, we detected an unusual surge of activity within the Object Storage Service in our Jakarta Datacenter. Further investigation revealed a substantial increase in requests, which exerted significant pressure on the Object Storage cluster resources, resulting in degraded performance for customers with buckets in the Jakarta region.
By 06:42 UTC, we successfully mitigated the impact by implementing measures to block the source of the excessive requests. Additionally, administrators performed a restart of the affected infrastructure, swiftly restoring normal functionality to our product.
This incident shares a common root cause with the service issue we encountered on November 17, 2023, as seen here. Our ongoing commitment to enhance the resiliency of our infrastructure remains a top priority as we continue to refine our systems to provide a seamless experience for our users.
